Weighing only 273g with batteries, the Speedlight SB-500 is surprisingly portable with dimensions of just 67mm (width) x 114.5mm (height) x 70.8mm (diameter). Its flash head tilts up to 90° and rotates 180° left and right, reducing your need for unnatural shading with additional accessories. Simply slot in 2 R7/AA-size batteries and start snapping away with ease.
Outshining the Competition
Small in size but big on performance, the SB-500 offers best-in-class brightness for flashlights that use 2 AA-sized batteries. Select from three output levels of LED light – low, mid, and high – and experience the SB-500 difference, even in dark interiors or at close distances. Its colour temperature is closer to natural sunlight, so you can use it as an auxiliary light even when you’re outdoors. With a coverage of 24mm*1 lens angle of view in FX-format DSLRs, it provides even lighting to reproduce colour as you see it. The color information communication function of the Speedlight also works seamlessly to automatically set the most appropriate white balance when paired with compatible cameras such as the D810 and D750.

Supporting 6 features of Creative Lighting Systems, the Speedlight SB-500 allows you to leverage on i-TTL Mode, Advanced Wireless Lighting, Modeling Flash, FV Lock, Flash Colour Information Communication, and Auto FP High-speed Sync to capture scenes as you envision them. The Speedlight SB-500 also operates in 2 modes: Remote, where the camera’s built-in flash acts as the master light and the Speedlight SB-500 as a secondary light; or Commander*2, where you can use the Speedlight SB-500 as the master flash with a compatible camera.
